U.S.A-BELIZE : Depart U.S.A. for a fantastic vacation in Belize. Arrive and transfer to the Hotel selected | | Day 2 | Altun Ha | FRI. BELIZE-ALTUN HA : Full day excursion. In the morning your guide will take you to explore the Mayan ruins of Altun-Ha - at one time it spread out about 20 square miles. You will see towers, palaces and pyramids of this great city where your tour guide will explain the advance world of the Mayan Civilization, then visit the exciting Baboon Sanctuary. Return to Belize for overnight. (L) | | Day 3 | Xunantunich | SAT. BELIZE-XUNANTUNICH : Early morning depart from Belize city to the western part of the country. Enroute, visit many Creole settlements. Arrive at the Mopan river where you will cross it by hand operated ferry to visit to the ruins of Xunantunich (Stone Woman)-This was a major ceremonial Mayan Center during the Classic Period, the site has 6 major plazas, surrounded by 25 temple & palaces -you will see one of the highest pyramids (130 feet high) called El Castillo. Also, you will stop at small -but interesting Belize Zoo (L). | | Day 4 | Belize | SUN. BELIZE : Day at leisure to explore the city and surroundings on your own or take an optional excursion to Tikal, Lamanai or just relax and enjoy this tropical paradise. | | Day 5 | Ambergris Caye | MON. BELIZE-AMBERGRIS CAYE : Transfer to the airport for flight to the town of San Pedro in Ambergris Caye. Most hotels here are within walking distance of each other. Transfer to hotel selected for overnight. | | Day 6 - 7 | Ambergris Caye | TUE-WED. AMBERGRIS CAYE : Days at leisure to explore this picturesque town of San Pedro or enjoy fishing, sailing, sun bathing, scuba diving or snorkel the second largest reef in the world (176 miles). | | Day 8 | Return USA | SAT.
